SMB Research provides another wrap-up of news big and small – or simply epiphanies for us - that we think you may want to know about. On deck this week are: Events, events, and more events. – oh, and also NetSuite, Waterloo Manufacturing, Plex Systems, and Tribute, Inc.
NetSuite has announced demand planning capabilities (NetSuite Demand Planning) for its cloud-based solution. This is a significant addition of capability for companies wanting integrated demand planning. NetSuite is targeting this functionality for wholesalers, manufacturers, retailers, and distributors who need to implement best-in-class inventory management practices.
Coming up next week is the Internet Retailer Conference and Exhibition (IRCE, or #IRCE2011 for those of us who are twitter-inclined). This show is obviously one of the largest, and perhaps even, as it claims, “the largest” E-Commerce show. The exhibitors (some 500) are a Who’s Who of the E-Commerce space.
TechWeb‘s Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston is coming up fast: June 20-23, at Hynes Convention Center. This is a great place to hear some distinguished speakers give you the latest development and insights around social media, and then the opportunity to cruise the exhibit space to talk to some of the leading vendors. There are conference tracks in Analytics and Metrics; Architecture; Business Leadership; Community Management: Engaging External Audiences; Community Management: Inside the Enterprise; Governance, Risk and Compliance; Mobile Enterprise; People, Culture and Internal Communications; Sales and Marketing; Social Apps and Platforms; Technology Leadership; and Video and Unified Communications. This is always a great event because you are surrojunded by people who are quite knowledgeable about and deeply immersed in the “Enterprise 2.0″ technologies and its best practice. Here’s hoping the exhibit space is bigger and better than ever.
RetailNOW2011 is just about here. July 24-27 in, where else, Orlando, FL. Are you going? Register here. OK, who came up with this title for TGATE Payments President Tracy Metzger’s presentation: “Taking Your Payments Over the Rainbow and Into the Cloud”. Catchy – we like it.
Tribute Inc.‘s Nina Baker reminds us that the Tribute User’s Group Meeting is coming up June 20th – 23rd in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel. Tribute is a Hudson, OH vendor for the industrial distribution industry, with two solutions: TrulinX, a Windows-based system, and Tribute Software System, their UNIX-based solution. Among other things, the event will focus on credit card tokenization for distributors to comply with PCI regulations. We understand from Nina that the next releases of their solutions coming out shortly will incorporate more of this into their solutions. By the way, Hayes Pump (“oldest and largest pump distributor in the Northeast”), Concord, MA, just went live with the TrulinX product. (Hmm. That’s in the neighborhood; We may have to go have a look.) We like Tribute already for one small reason: they understand the value of having a well-written blog (DisTribute) on their website. Have a look. More companies should probably do this.
